In a recent fireside chat with Alan Dershowitz he states emphatically that our morality must be accompanied with the strength required to confront our adversaries and defend Judaism. His words spoke to me.
There are many of us that find confrontation unpalatable, but we are living in an age of unreasonableness and a crisis of dissonance.
A radio host asked me, “how, despite the evidence provided by Hamas on social media on the day of October 7th, can otherwise presumably educated people find moral equivalence and rational in the barbarity of this attack?” It is a pressing question that begs a discussion on how deep does the hate go when it comes to antisemitism.
If the syllabus of hate knows no reason and cannot be reasoned with; we, Jews, Christians, and Muslims who are of reason and who are the lovers of life must become actively involved through the political and judicial means available to counter the quicksand of antisemitism and hatred that is devouring the minds of our young.
“Antisemitism is taught in every university and college, in every school- private and public; regardless of the subject matter, an entire generation of our children and youth are being indoctrinated into an unprecedented syllabus of hatred for the Jew. What happens in 20-30 years when these kids become leaders? When one of them become the President of the United States?”
The path to change starts in our schools. The Global Jihad is here and the radicalization is mature in its path to establish the Jihadist values. The window is closing before time and consequence are irreversible.
What can be done?
First and foremost the law must have clarity (which it does not) when it comes to the lines crossed from free speech to hateful rhetoric and calls for violence. Furthermore, no one people or culture should be discriminated against- by any forms of public or private publications. We know of how the breadcrumbs for hate breed a license to normalize abhorrent and insidious acts that lead to injustice, murder, and genocide.
There are web sites openly hunting Jews.
A web site like findidfsoldiers.net can openly operate because there is simply no judicial powers to shut this down. The intent of this website is obvious. To expose and put in harms way Canadian lone soldiers of the IDF. What is next, Jewish owned businesses, a list of Jewish professionals, addresses of where you can find Jews who oppose the lovers of death? The idea that someone can post this kind of information with total impunity is a slippery slope into the vast darkness of propaganda that normalizes the hate and calls to violence.
Please write to your political representatives and demand legislation that is fair and equitable amongst all people, that details very clear laws around hate and calls for violence. We must act before we look back one day and state with regret what we should have done, what we could have done, and what we would have done. We must fight our adversaries from a moral higher ground but with strength.
