There is a new low by the indecent. IDF soldiers are being hunted, lists are being prepared reminiscent of Nazi Germany "Jewish Lists". This madness must stop now!

An insidious website is compiling detailed profiles on IDF lone soldiers from Canada —names, photos, hometowns, and personal details— this is the new low of the lovers of death, the useful idiots of Hamas: it is the online doxxing of IDF soldiers, it is the hunting of the Jew.

https://findidfsoldiers.net/ is a Canadian site hosted by a proclaimed non-profit, The Maple news website. Subscribers are urged to “report” IDF soldiers and have made it very convenient to add these names to the list. While the purveyors of this list are using information already out there in the public, the intent of aggregating and branding this information is disturbingly obvious.

The sole focus of this site is to “out” IDF lone soldiers from Canada and put them in harm’s way. They do it with impunity.

Lone soldiers are individuals; citizens of countries other than Israel, who volunteer to serve in the IDF. They will make Aliya becoming Israeli new immigrants. After three years of active service they will become reservists. Some will choose to return to their home countries and others will continue to live in Israel. These brave individuals have sacrificed privilege and comfort and proudly serve a higher purpose, my son is one of these heroes, and now he has been put on a list.

These young idealists are realists who see Israel as the only answer to the words “Never Again”, a mantra of the Holocaust where 6 million Jews were murdered by Nazi Germany. Lists were made then; Jews were hunted down, collected, and murdered. That was in 1938. Forward some 80 years later and lists are being made once again. What happens after IDF soldiers? Will Jewish university students be next? Will lists of Jews and their addresses be published in various neighbourhoods? Where does this stop? Where, I dare ask, does this end?

Eitan is a reservist, and on the morning of October 7, 2023 he was called for active duty, following the worst terrorist attack in the history of the Jewish State. Across an ocean, our family lived with the dread of knowing that our boy was amongst the 400,000 heroes who mobilized within hours of the attack, and every IDF casualty we would come to learn of since that day and onwards leaves the trauma of what remains unsaid festered in the darkest place of our minds.

It is not enough to have watched helplessly as 1,200 people were murdered and 250 men, women, and children; as old as 85 and as young as 10 months, were kidnapped and taken into Gaza. As we have now learned from the accounts of those released; hostages were tortured, and many murdered while in the custody of their captors. They were prized trophies of a mass murdering collective without remorse; paraded in the streets of Gaza, kept in the cages of journalists and doctors, and locked in the darkness of tunnels.

There is only one goal of the Jihad and that is the genocide of Jews and the destruction of Israel.

It is not enough that Israel has had to endure a bloody war to defend against enemy aggressors on all sides. There is no moral equivalence as portrayed in the media describing “two sides” in this conflict. There is no wish to conquer and enslave; subjugate or achieve territory. There is only one goal of the Jihad and that is the genocide of Jews and the destruction of Israel. The terror of Hamas in the south, the army of Hezbollah in the North, are not “resisting” anything, they are terrorists and aggressors, they are the lovers of death, waging war over the lovers of life. They are at the doorstep of Israel and have invaded America, Europe, and Australia curated by the ultimate sponsor of terror, the Islamic Iranian regime.

Marching with placards and calling for the genocide and murder of Jews everywhere.

There is a dissonance of no consequence. Journalists, doctors, lawyers; professionals and intellectuals have joined the fray of the illiberal liberals. Spreading untruths and feeding the flames of anti-Israel, and by extension antisemitic sentiment.

All levels of government; Federal, Provincial, and Municipal have turned a blind eye and in doing so have enabled the haters. There are a lack of laws to protect the Jewish population from hate and the incitement to violence. The list of 85 Canadian citizens have been identified with one intention only; to intimidate and endanger. This indecent exposure happens at the pleasure of a pseudo journalist, Davide Mastracci, who abuses the privilege of free speech to harm my son. And he does so without consequence. He does so with license, because he is so clever and knows that the very privilege granted to him to report freely is a social contract that has been perversely manipulated and lacks the authority to impede his spread of hate endangering my son. It is the breakdown of the social order and the exposure of a government with little agency to do anything to protect its citizenry.

Sites like readthemaple.com aren’t the only ones hunting IDF soldiers. “Israeli Genocide Tracker” and “Zionist Watch” aggregate public data to “out” soldiers, especially lone soldiers, framing it as journalism. But their intent is clear: to isolate, intimidate, and put in harm's way.

On February 18, 2025, two reservists fled Amsterdam after “Israeli Genocide Tracker” posted their photos, alleging Gaza “atrocities.” The IDF rushed them home as activists cheered online. In January 2025, Israel extracted a soldier from Brazil before a war crimes probe—sparked by activist pressure—could detain him. Similar incidents have surfaced in Europe since late 2024.

The ICC’s November 2024 warrants for Israeli leaders Netanyahu and Gallant fuel this, amplifying war crimes claims against troops of the IDF. For IDF soldiers abroad, the risk of arrest in ICC-aligned nations is very real, and being hunted and a target of violence likely.

These young people have sacrificed so much to shield Israel and the world from jihadists. What are we doing to protect our lone soldiers? We cannot allow sites like this, especially in Canada, to be online and continue to compile lists of Jews. It is simply insanity!

The publishing of these “hunting” lists seems to thrive in a Western culture muddled by liberal moral relativism. Pro-Palestinian protests—chanting “From the river to the sea” and “Death to America”—rebrand terrorism as “resistance”. Antisemitic rhetoric festers unchecked. Police charge protestors, but convictions are rare. Of 450 charges laid by Toronto Police Services, there have been zero convictions to date. “We lack the judicial tools until there’s an actual act or threat of terror” one officer exclaimed in frustration.

Here’s the rub: these hunters exploit free speech—our sacred right—to enslave us. They wield our freedoms to spread hate and endanger lives. Shutting them down risks censorship, yet tolerating them invites chaos. The answer is plain, there must be clear lines established and laws created to target content that incites hate and violence. We need legal clarity and education to expose jihadist radicalization.

This isn’t just Israel’s fight. The Hunting of IDF soldiers is the hunting of the Jew everywhere. It is the foreground for a skirmish with Global Jihad. My son and his peers deserve more than this. They are heroes defending not just Israel, but the free world from radical Islamic rule. The laws of our land allow for these lists to be published without consequence, unabated by their true intent. First the Jews and then everyone else is fair game to the radical Jihad whose indiscriminate randomness of violence, terror, and murder rationalizes all populations as prey to the promotion of a higher purpose.
