When challenged by the lovers of life, the Police warned the supporters of Israel and Jews rallying on the other side of the street not to “cross lines” when it came to the “peaceful protest” supporting the Hamas baby killers else they could be charged and detained.

Here is a number to think about: 450 charges have been laid in the past year against protestors that have caused vandalism, threatened police, incited hatred, uttered threats, and physically assaulted Jewish people. How many were convicted by our criminal justice system? “Zero”. I spell that out because Zero represents nothing and is the absence of anything. And there is no more fitting way to describe the agency of our governments since October 7th. I spoke with a senior police official at Toronto Police Service who expressed his frustration to the point of tears pooling- “we have no direction, no legislation, and no leadership”, we were discussing the lawlessness of anarchy that has taken over our streets with masked protestors calling for the genocide of Jews.
Now they are targeting my son. An obscure publication called readthemaple.com has recently and proudly published a list of 85 Canadians who are lone soldiers in the IDF, amongst them, my son Eitan. The list was put together by a low life named Davide Mastracci. A pseudo journalist who positions himself as a humanist and yet he vilifies Israel and stands up for the baby killers, the lovers of death. “Now, Mr. Mastracci”- I am not a legal expert and I could tell in your creative writing that you think much of yourself and creative diffusion of any legal liability because you imagine that this is all public information anyways. I am also sure that our humanist, Mr Mastracci, is emboldened by a public policy, criminal court system, and lack of legislation that would see him convicted of any crime. But this will not be the case. You have now poked the bear.
My son is a hero. I cannot be prouder of the many Canadian young men and women who have sacrificed the comfort of their lives to become IDF lone soldiers. These are special people, each one of them, who have listened to their calling to defend the rightful, sovereign, democratic Jewish State of Israel. They do not ask for honour or thanks, because they are not serving for that reason, but rather a deeper call of true humanity something known in Hebrew as Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. They are the healers of this world, and they are the defenders who have listened well to the very two words spoken by their grandparents and great grandparents, “NEVER AGAIN”
I will not be intimidated by Mr. Mastracci, as I will not be intimidated by the countless haters out there who have been empowered by an excuse of a government that has given license to give voice to the terror of Jihadism. Mr. Mastracci has abused the privilege of his pen, the media, and free speech to publish his vileness and in an attempt to harm my son.
I am not the only parent who you will have pissed off today. Along with every parent of every lone soldier, you have poked the bear of a far greater audience of decent people who see your publication as an expressed act of hate and intimidation.
“The Wake Up Call is my stand against global jihad and surging antisemitism—fuelled by my son Eitan’s IDF fight and a world too blind to see the threat.” It is the useful idiots like Mastracci who provide the proof of what I have to say when it comes to the rise of Jihadists in our backyard.
I call on all decent people to say “enough is enough”. Demand from our leaders and our governments to have the agency to create the criminal legislation to call out the syllabus of hate and the incitement of violence agains the Jewish people of this great land. The social contract extends to Jews too.

Is The Maple doing anything wrong in listing Canadian Jews who are members of the IDF ? Is it not the the right of all Canadians to know about members of any and all foreign military interests in our country, especially those who may support racism, genocide and the flaunting of international law ? Are all Canadians not free to explore and assess individuals and organizations on our soil that openly espouse hatred and murder ? Who has the right to define Canadian rights and freedoms other than ourselves ?

I read ill-intended slams against the Maple editor in this thread, comments formulated by incoherence rather than fact. Formal debate demands respectful comprehension of points at issue and equally respectful, pertinent dissent. Ad hominem and Straw Dog fallacies are the strategy of those who have lost the thread. Let’s leave disrespect and venality where it belongs: outside Canada and Canadian discourse.
I’m curious to know what other countries have undisclosed military organizations and training programs in our country? What communities exist here that use religion and their versions of history as justification for atrocities, here or abroad. Which groups should concern us with possible national threats ?
I agree with Christopher Hitchens. Religion is a human fabrication, the sole purpose of which is to instil entitlement, distrust, and hatred and to justify greed and war. Historical justification by a scattered diaspora claiming right of possession over others is a minefield that Canada must avoid.
Canada is a land of peace keepers. Groups who justify war are not Canadians as we have historically defined ourselves. I support The Maple and all journalists who pursue information on groups that threaten our national image, status, values and safety. Any group claiming exemption from Canadian law and scrutiny, by definition, is Un-Canadian and should be exposed and held accountable.
